It was great to be able to attend last weeks meeting and provide 16 leads for various different members. In turn I left this meeting with a quote for 1000 corflute signs, a car wrap to quote and a request to quote a companies signage. A lead from a meeting late last year from a company that we had provided a lot of business too has culminated in me securing a national deal soon to be international for that companies signage. There is no doubt in my mind that networking groups can work, however the results will not just come to you, there is much work to put in before the leads start tumbling in. Show an interest in the members businesses, ask questions, visit them and get a real understanding for what products or services that they offer. Remember you are going to be referring friends, family and business acquaintances to these people so it is best you know as much as you can about them. Use the members services and products yourself. The best referrals will come when you have experienced the service or product yourself. After a meeting allocate an hour to referring people to members. I allocate three or four members to work on after every meeting. Like, share and comment on their Facebook page and posts. Open there business up to your followers and friends. Write positive comments about the business on your social media pages. The big thing to remember is that if you just sit in the corner, if you dont take your opportunity to be the guest speaker, if you dont make yourself known around the group, if you are not friendly, positive and going in with a good attitude, the leads WILL NOT come your way.
